Pretty much bored these few days.. lessons are delayed and we are sometimes stuck doing some mindless nondescript things that i shall not talk about. I just thought that i might as well write something more intelligent.. u know, like brush up on some english skills..
Being a young salary earner, i can somewhat understand the financial burden that weighs upon every household. House loans, bills, insurance as well as education fees of children and even car loans. Not to mention the cost of having a comfortable retirement at age 40 plus.. This amount of money is by no means a small amount. It is much more than mere hundreds of thousands but rather in terms of millions.
I do not think the youth in Singapore can really comprehend the pressures that their parents face. Indeed, we live sheltered lives, and our parents probably give us decent amounts of allowances. Yet, we often ask for more. I myself know this to be true, the current social life of students now is truly one of extravagance. All these at the expense of our parents.
Nonetheless there are those who have parents that are well-to-do, but for the majority of people in Singapore, the high cost of living is a real problem. Frequent places to eat for youth like Cafe Cartel, Fish & Co. etc, cost no less than $15 a pop.
Take a thought, money doesn't come easy, and we know it. Yet we take it for granted. Do your parents a favour and calculate how much you are costing them. Are you high maintenance? If you are, i hope you will make an effort to make life a little easier for them. Kids in future are gonna be a hell lot more expensive.. thats when you are the parent.
Check out this pic taken back in July when our C3 seniors finally became officers. The four of us (the secind bugger from the left: thats me :p), were there as ensigns to take over the flags from our seniors. In about 7 months, God willing, i'll be wearing this uniform braving it out in the parade square under the eyes of friends and family, and the next batch of juniors will be there in our shoes, taking the flags from us. It is a majestic parade no doubt, the atmosphere is one of pride and glory. The sea of white uniforms of a few hundred young officers.. hopefully i'll be among them soon.
Yup come Monday we'll be having our weekly Muster Parade where our turn-out will be scutinised. >< its a pretty dumb parade that wastes your time and gets you into potential trouble if you turn-out is not acceptable (bits of stubble, boots that don't shine etc). Standards can be pretty high too.. bleh but hopefully can pass la huh? I did get my hair cut..
We write journals daily by the way, putting in what we learnt, did well, or could do better for the day. Its imposed on us lol and we gotta let the instructor see them everyday. Well at least we are given sufficient time to mull over what to write hehe..

Home Sweet Home

The Aftermath: Sore Legs. Book out.
Whew.. 1 really tiring day yesterday.. killer run.. definately not looking forward to the AHM coming up Sept 11. I know i've been complaining but lol but at least i'm shedding excess fats ^^. Haha my running's still as bad as ever but hopefully i'll slowly improve cos i still want my $200!!
The rumours about the turn-out was proven to be false. Its strange, but somehow i felt a little disappointed. Turn-outs are never easy, hell its supposedly 4 hours of hell, but then again, the sooner its over the better. No point thinking about it and dreading it right? Its true that with our tired out legs turn out will be an absolute torture, but i think for that reason the seniors will also have a little more compassion huh? All u aspiring Air Force cadets (ADA) can join in this fun when u join us in AFS. 20th WSO ADA, we'll be expecting u hehe..
Booking out today, so expected an update when i get home haha.. Will be adding some pics i think.. Cant wait to really get this blog started. Packed schedules all day sat and sun.. Still gotta ready my field pack to bring into camp.. Ugh

Things are going slow as expected (i'm stuck in camp).. hopefully the guys can get in a laptop with internet access then i can update like every night ^^. I'm still new on this shit, so be patient. Ain't enough time to really develop this blog. Not to mention all the things i gotta pick up ><. Gotta get to my own com before i get to upload pictures and stuff..
Training training training.. Its all confidential so yeah u won't see me saying much about it. But u might see me in East Coast running with the boys in preparation for our 21km Army Half Marathon on Sept 11 (maybe the President if u look hard enough). Definately a terrorist act if u ask me lol. Look out for more posts and hopefully pictures when we finally get our LOAs for videocams and digicams.
Life in the Airforce is definately much more fun campared to Infantry guys.
