Initiation We were awaken by knock on our dooe at approximately 0245. Ok so we had early warning, so we were pretty much prepared for it anyway. In a flash we were down at the chin-up bar, our seniors shouting and screaming at us to move faster, doling out push-ups to those who were slow.
We ran to the hanger where more excercises were done, ran back foor chin-ups, the weight of 8 sand-cans feeling like shit. Our breath were mostly ragged. Then it was on to a corridor where more exercises awaited. By the end of it, we were pretty up beat-up.
Again we ran.. back to the hanger for the finale.. the missile walk. A tradition of the ADA wing where cadets had to walk together in a line carrying the missiles used to knock down planes. Not light mind you.. After walking around the school, we came back to cheers of jubilation of our fellow coursemates.
All these probably lasted about 3 hours. To be fair, we were spared quite a bit due to the rain, but nonetheless it wasn't easy. There were worse times though, as those who went through ocs would know, so in a sense this one was pretty much chicken feet.
All in all we learnt lessons from this short ordeal. Teamwork, mutual encouragement, determination, fighting spirit and a slew of other values. All these helped bring us through as a course, waiting for the weaker ones and pushing them on. A team is only as strong as its weakest member, and as ADA officers, we must work as a team to defend Singapore skies.
Our people sleep soundly in their beds 'cos we are there..
