Intensity
Intensity

Training's picking up, and I'm not sure how we are gonna survive.. Its been awhile since I felt so negative, but after really giving it some thought, the 8 of us are gonna have some hard times ahead. Pushing was never easy, and its hard even for our best team. Can the 8 of us really deploy half an FU all by ourselves? With all that pushing, tests etc etc.. It could take hours just to set up..

Looking also at how disadvantaged we are compared to the rest, I feel damn discouraged. Its not that the SOH must come from guns or anything, but rather, we as gunners don't have the time or strength to do any other kind of physical training. Not to mention study for various tests. I thank our instructors for really trying to cheer us up, but it doesn't change a thing..

Pride.. also half the reason of my nick Pryde.. Thats all what we are hanging on to. I'd be lying if I said my morale was high. At times, I even foresee myself not commissioning: an event I do not want to see happen. But its a possibility.. And the more I think of it, the chances seem to be dwindling. I might be doing pretty well in my course but yet, test grades are often my strong point, but physically I'm really having troubles.

I wish I could think more positively, but I can't.. One things for sure though, I won't give up. Not on myself, or on the course. I want to prove the trend wrong. Gunners don't get chopped, and I hope my fellow coursemates will work towards it. Jia You!!

Hanabi

Hanabi

Welcome to Hanabi, a japanese restaurant tucked away at King's Arcade, next to Coronation. Providing buffet luch and dinner at $30 and $35 respectively, it is definately worth a try if you love japanese cuisine. With a wide range of dishes like sashimi, sushi, handrolls, maki, and other main dishes available free-flow, it is worth every cent. Just check out the pic ^^ (thats one side of the menu btw)

Food is fresh and appetizing, served in small portions that can keep you asking for more.. Staff are pretty friendly (haha maybe even pretty ad friendly lol), and the ambience is not bad, quiet and relaxed. The yakiniku (beef) really rox, and so do the croquettes and spider (soft-shelled crab handrolls).. the list just goes on and on.

Bong gives it 4 stars out of 5, considering the range could include stuff like softshell crabs and urchins ie more exotic stuff haha.. Sashimi could be sliced a lil thinner, and the wasabi should be stronger.. But really do check it out one day, and ask me along! Best to book a table before you go.

Dancing Guns
Dancin' Guns

Well we're back after a wee of tango with the guns we so feared. And it is one thing to be feared.. Nothing short of heavy, bulky, this piece of metal is a horror to dance with! The dance floor is our favourite hangout Club 20, where we spend our days in 160 SQN.

Each session includes 4 men being totally shagged out, the other 4 in good condition. Woe betide the poor 4 doing the pushing and controlling the towbar. A real physical experience u know? Haha think just doing the tango with our beloved equipment can build us up. Or break us, so we found out. We feel effects from all these exertions and this can take some toll on our SOC.

Which we had one this week and it rained. As per SOP, it got changed into a physical conditioning session. While to be fair it wasn't as tough as the previous one, it was not easy either. When Peng Yu sounded out to the PTI that some of us were involved in pushing and might not be in the best condition to perform the exercises: they were literally shaking, a certain instructor told us such words would affect the morale of others, that they were having tough training themselves.

As a matter of fact, I think none of the others would argue that our training is the toughest. While I don't blame the instructor for what he said to us, I feel that we should at least be given the appreciation for being in our course. We do not have a easy time. We push and work one of the heaviest equipment in the RSAF, easily tens of times heavier than the rest and much more. With each day I feel a strange attatchment to our course, a sense of belonging to the SQN. When someone belittles our training I get a little irritated. We do not need exhortation, rather we want to be recognised and at least understood. We are Gunners. We are the Best Unit. We will prove our worth.

To my fellow Gunners: we have gone far, pushing our way through. And now we're halfway through. The big events are just a couple of months away. We will survive despite the statistics. Don't give up because the pride that comes with commissioning will be much more than our peers.

Here in Chong Pang Camp this is what we do : push gun cock gun climb everyday..

03S14 Gals
The Gals of 03S14

And here they are.. finally blogger decided to let me post pics again, to my suprise.. Haha pretty overdue sorry.. The guy version was like how long ago.. >< oh well better late than never ya? Not all of them are present in this picture, but most are anyway, so I guess this'll suffice.

Really brings back lots of JC memories looking at these pics. After been away from skool for over 10 months now, I must say I miss PJC.. a lot. I miss my class and the people in it. Haha guys and gals, I really wanna get a day where we can all go to some beach together and relax/sunbathe! No beach bod yet, but haha whos gonna stop me?

So many things happened in two that two years in which I can describe as the most happening time of my life to date. Army can't compare.. pulleease!! Haha I still remember when I was like "Quick quick I wanna go army so i can finally stop skooling!!" Then I found out that the army ain't better than school. Sure, a different level altogether, but I still prefer skool life. At least I had more fun ^^.

So while the girls can complain how being in Uni sucks and the guys and whine about how they get tekaned and pushed around, I guess the grass is always greener on the other side. Haha think when I finally get to Uni I'll be complaining how going back to skool sucks.. Time will tell..
Haha I'm digressing.. Back to the girls shall we? Well I can't really say we have lookers, but ya actually I won't complain too much la.. Their a bunch of interesting people, different characters and stuff. And my 2 jie meis that really put a damn lotta laughter in skool. (thats the 2nd and 3rd from the right, first row) We have our blur queens, our 'careless whisper', flirt queens etc etc.. haha class was always having something new everyday..

All the best in whatever you girls are doing now.. don't forget those slogging away 2 precious years in army k?

Slight Updates
Slight Updates

Well forkweek is over (our week starts on mondays and ends on fridays, life starts every other day) and whoa am I shagged! Booking in and out really drains u physically and mentally. But i'm not complaining cos its all good ^^

Well I did up my links page a lil, so its more partitioned haha.. looks neater i think.. right? To say the truth, I never thought this blog would last so long. Strange lor, I never thought I would even blog in the first place.. Haha whats worse, its a guy that introed me to blogging! Urg.. Nonetheless bloggin can be pretty fun la juz typin out your thoughts here and there..

Had a test today on OEMP.. haha i too am unsure what that means, but it emcompases maintenance and troubleshooting on our vernerable equipment in the Hanger we affectionately call Club20 (though we hate going there) I did pretty ok la i thought, though i was prolly lucky that the problems posed to me were pretty simple. That took up the whole day.. thought it'll never end.. Sigh nails filled with grease and grime again. How am I gonna clean them?? I even use a toothbrush!

Eyes closing but I must push.. haha.. Sat is fully packed as usual.. Tml I'm gonna go help lyn with her math, then its back to office for some work, and then.. well something i do every sat night ^^.. Sometimes I feel that I should find time for myself, but I think, what would I have done with my time? Sleep? Wasteful.. Play games? Well not too bad, but also tiring.. The pressing thing is to pack my room, but 1 look at it and i give up.. sigh i just dont have a real place to put certain kinds of stuff..

Thats why I try to pack my schedule.. I'm sorry if i've been too busy for anybody.. I only have 24hrs.. and its not just for the present, but the future.. Gonna squeeze out all the time possible to be with friends, family and loved ones. Not to mention a little finance too ^^. Time management is truly an art. No wonder ppl pay big bucks to learn how to. Learning to maximise time is the most important thing ever. Time is one thing u can't waste and get back.

Yawn.. really feeling so dead, head aches.. but i can't peel off my com haha.. catching up with ppl over msn.. gonna stop blogging le..

Geylang
Geylang

Whew.. at approx 2330hrs on 021105, a couple of hot-blooded guys went out to Geylang. Ok ok nothing sleazy, juz to visit the sights and sounds oof 'Malay Village' the night before Hari Raya. And boy, check out the crowd! Me, Ash, Loke, Yap together with our foreign mates Mint and Fazely set out on a journey of exploration. I was just my usual zombified self.. Its super late can..

Masses of people squeezed all around, merchandise and the like spanning across streets. Heck even roads had to be closed due to all that human-traffic spilling out into them. It was choking.. its the kinda environment I absolutely hate to shop in. Finally we gave up fighting the crowd and went to some hawker center for supper. (my 2nd of the night :p)

After the filling meal of mee goreng, roti john and satay, we got up and walked towards Kallang, passing by part of the sleazy zones of the area. Well we saw a couple of em' but it wasn't really anything actually. Haha to say the truth, its prolly the first time I went there too! Not very impressive la.. doesn't live up to its reputation if you ask me. But then again, this is Singapore ya? Think such liasons will also be done tactically too.

When we finally burst out of the Geylang area, it was really a sudden change of environment. More fresh air to breathe too. Felt good to be out. We just sat there at the bus stop talked a bit b4 heading back home.

Stars were shining so brightly..

Forkday
Fork Week

Lol this week is what Ashwin describes as fork week.. If you're wondering why, its cos our workdays are like the prongs of a fork.. booking in and out due to Deepavali and Hari Raya. Now its not that I'm not happy about these holidays, but rather I'm irritated by the way their deployed (pardon my army terms). I mean, having to book in and out wastes valuable time and disrupts lots of programmes.. I'd prolly kill just for us to book in the following morning, even if it means waking up at 0500 hrs and rushing down to 160 SQN.

Lol read Vic's blog and I was tickled.. haha somehow her blog never fails to amuse me.. (is that good or bad? hmm) Made me think back for awhile to my younger days. I'm 19 and I feel so damn old at times. I'm sorry if ur older lol XD. Anyway if people don't already know, I was fat before. Some can testify to that. Been in TAF club before, been called a fatso, have jiggling *ahem*, stomach etc etc etc.

Well I'm not really gloating about how I lost weight, cos if I knew how i did it, i would be rich. But it started in Sec 2 i guess.. By Sec 3 i could say I was reasonably slim. Was it soccer? Was it no reccess? Was it puberty 0.o? Haha maybe a combination of all that? Whatever, I'm thankful at least that I'm no longer fat..

But being slim is not everything people. Of course, being obese is another. Find that balance between being slim and being fit. Being stick-thin is not really appealing lor.. Ugh I've seen ppl that i think i can snap lke a twig.. Bleh anorexic ppl.. Watch your health!

P.S: I still can't run for nuts ><
P.P.S: Vic, dun give up! Running doesn't really give big thighs.. It all depends on the running you do.. Go check up on fitness magazines, they really help a lot

Yay dark chocolates!!
