GeylangWhew.. at approx 2330hrs on 021105, a couple of hot-blooded guys went out to Geylang. Ok ok nothing sleazy, juz to visit the sights and sounds oof 'Malay Village' the night before Hari Raya. And boy, check out the crowd! Me, Ash, Loke, Yap together with our foreign mates Mint and Fazely set out on a journey of exploration. I was just my usual zombified self.. Its super late can..
Masses of people squeezed all around, merchandise and the like spanning across streets. Heck even roads had to be closed due to all that human-traffic spilling out into them. It was choking.. its the kinda environment I absolutely hate to shop in. Finally we gave up fighting the crowd and went to some hawker center for supper. (my 2nd of the night :p)
After the filling meal of mee goreng, roti john and satay, we got up and walked towards Kallang, passing by part of the sleazy zones of the area. Well we saw a couple of em' but it wasn't really anything actually. Haha to say the truth, its prolly the first time I went there too! Not very impressive la.. doesn't live up to its reputation if you ask me. But then again, this is Singapore ya? Think such liasons will also be done tactically too.
When we finally burst out of the Geylang area, it was really a sudden change of environment. More fresh air to breathe too. Felt good to be out. We just sat there at the bus stop talked a bit b4 heading back home.
Stars were shining so brightly..
