1 week
Back in SAFTI

And I went back in for a week stretching from Sunday to Saturday.. Sigh the time spent in there really sucked.. Loads of lectures, visits and physical activities left me feeling super sian over the week. It was just so boring! Not to mention the usual friday book-outs I am so used to have changed to saturday afternoon.. Made the week feel oh so draggy ><

Well at least alls not THAT bad.. We had a few interesting events ie the navy visit where we got on board the LST RSS Persistence and explored its interior, as well as the talk on how to see signs of mental illness. Especially this one.. A Dr. John Bosco Lee, a LTC with the vocation of divers O.o, talked to us. Apparently he's a psychiatrist or counsellor of sorts, and he was really interesting as a speaker. He had so many interesting and shocking examples from the cases he has handled both inside and outside the SAF. Think he had the least attrition rate of all the speakers ie to say the least number of ppl falling asleep!

Then came the highlight of the week on saturday. Our first rehearsal session with the SSM. All officers will tell you that he is probably one of the most garang sergeant majors around in the SAF. He gives out punishment like water, makes us sweat it out on the parade square like pigs, yet commands the humour and respect from us. After the horrendously tiring session which left me burnt, panting and inflicted with 2 blisters and a huge blue-black on my right arm, we struggled back to Air Wing to book out. Though I wore 2 layers of socks, the outer layer also kana rub until 1 big hole in both socks!

Reached home, unloaded all my dirty, smelly clothing and socks, then freshened up and went to look for Zel ^^ haha.. Went to make Oreo cheesecake at her house (yum!) No matter what she says, I think this 1 was the best so far lor! (makes a face) XD

Sigh
Sigh

I don't know why I'm this tired.. Its not like I didn't sleep at all.. This feeling of being drained of energy.. No enthusiasm for the day.. Just the heaviness of my eyes..

Maybe its all been dragging on for too long.. Late nights, early revelies, long days, rushing here rushing there.. Think it all add up to what I'm feeling now.. Days start early in the morning and end close to midnight..

To those who keep on seeing my tired face.. I'm really sorry.. Especially you Zel.. I'm so sorry I look so dead even with you.. I know I told you I would get better, but I guess its harder than I thought.. Thank you for being so patient and loving..

Maybe its one of my rare mood swings as a cancer.. Maybe I'm getting old .. I dunno.. Haha but when I look at her photo, I can't help but smile..

Gonna book in again within an hour or two.. I see the huge amount of shit I gotta carry later.. Not sure if I can even come out on friday this week.. Missing you already..

Sorry if this post was so depressing.. really had to get it out of my system somehow.. I'll cheer up k?

Life Day
Life Day

The day started off bad today.. Sigh.. supposed to book into AFS at 0830H, but after oversleeping on the train and ending up at Orchard instead of Toa Payoh, I finally reached AFS at 0900H. I set alarm somemore lor.. Zzz, really been falling back on sleep ever since I can remember. Our beloved Mr. T told me he's gonna gimme a weekend's stay at SAFTI.. I hope he's really joking cos if not I'm really screwed.. Oh well..

The event started off, with the cake cutting and award presentations. After all that blah blah stuff, we got down to the number of admin tentages which were game booths, pretty much like a carnival. Armed with 6 bucks worth of coupons which we were graciously made to buy them, the gunners set out to redeem their prizes and whacking the games..

We started off trying our hand at golf, but cos we not Tiger Woods, hitting 3 out of 5 shots proved too tough for us. After busting a few bucks on a few pitiful shots, we decided to move on rather than uselessly flinging money away.

Then we hit the jackpot.

Reaching a booth in which the game was to push a beer mug filled with rose syrup into a circle at the end of a GS bench (pretty much like curling), we found that it was a cinch to quickly accumulate stamps cos it was so simple! In no time, all the stamps were filled up and we happily trooped over to get our prizes. I got a metal bottle ^^ haha really could use that lor!

Went over to the Cheshire Home booth and ended up buying a bookmark and a candle.. Haha pretty nice stuff actually, but could be better. Then again, how much can you ask from them right?

But everything soon became boring, only made worse by the sweltering heat. We wanted so much to egress lor, and we also wanted to send our Thai friend Mint off. So after lots of phone calls, we managed to get clearance. So we headed to the airport. And Mint flew off.. Goodbye Mint! Gonna miss you!

Went to meet Zel after lunch at West Mall, then we watched Walk the Line. Its a really draggy show!! Ugh didn't like it.. Guess shoulda watched Marrying the Mafia instead.. Anyways, went to her house to help her out in math and econs. Lol and my roses were dying.. Sigh never expected them to last vey long anyway.. Just so happy she loved them ^^ made all my efforts worth it all.. Haha then she went to bathe and I went to dreamland. For more information, visit her blog to know wad happen when I was out cold.

Haha woke up feeling so seh.. then went home.. Yawn.. gotta book in SAFTI so soon..

Brevet
Brevets!

Haha I'm still in camp.. and I'm bored.. We finally pinned our brevets on our No.3 le! Feel so damn shiok! Mwahaha.. that gold on my chest just feels so good! Think I'm really sounding like a little boy..

Had rehearseals in the morning just like yesterday, and its so tiring! All of us are pretty much birnt after being in the hot sun for hours, drilling in super uncomfortable boots which caused blisters to erupt. Simple signs include v-neck burns, glove lines etc etc.. Haha all these to prepare us for our commissioning parade, in which the rehearsals will be a hell lot worse.. Dun wanna book into SAFTI, carrying all that shit..

Bleh, somehow got myself appointed as song IC, gotta teach the guys how to sing the 4 songs we're gonna sing during our commissioning parade. Its really not easy cos got song for each language, so the non-chinese got prob with chinese songs, while we got prob with the indian and malay songs.. Really funny cos the guys struggled with the pronunciations for Muneru Vaaliba (did i spell that right?). I more or less know cos I was there last time when 58/05 commissioned. Really grand though a little cock-up here and there..

Got a dumb CNY dinner later (yes REALLY) with steamboat coming up. Really wanted to come out early de.. Really sad.. But I guess food is really good huh?? Haha..

Went to Suntec Ben & Jerry's yesterday night with the guys.. Haha went to see Gloria who was workin there.. So jealous.. JR can see his GF.. It was madness lor cos I never ate so much ice-cream before! Ok maybe I did back in Mr Loh's house on CNY 2004, but 12 scoops of ice cream really quite overkill.. Was really hilarious too, cos we were ordered milkshakes in which the girls would make for us. Gloria made us the first 1 and she was like 'issit nice??' lol it tasted very minty.. Not bad I must say.. Then this other girl called Ashlee made 1 for us too saying 'every girl has her own milkshake' We really laughed like mad at that! Haha! Shimon and his crazy imaginations.. sigh.. Hers tasted of cinnamon.. Not bad either..

To say the truth, I still love Billy Bombers milkshakes a lot more, cos they are really smooth, while the ones we had got these choco grains.. Not say not nice la.. but I think smooth is nice ^^ Think we'll be going back there pretty soon.. for this 80 dollar ice-cream which I can't imagine what it'll be like.

We went back bloated with ice cream (not to mention we went Crystal Jade to eat as well). So tired.. legs aching etc etc..

Yup blog another time k? Cheers!

RCGC

RCGC

15th Feburary 1830hrs : 83 graduants from different courses got their long awaited wings, brevets, and swords. It was a shiok feeling marching up to HAO, recieving the ADA brevet on my chest, and the sword we dreamed of for so long ever since we loboed in AFS. Indeed, over the past year in the army ever since being a 'chao recuit' in BMT back when I enlisted on 8th Jan 2005. Looking back, I never expected to have come so far..

I remember when I first got into Tekong, with the ' Welcome to Tekong' sign so sarcarstically hanging over our heads. The day we shaved our heads and took the SAF pledge. We took that same oath this very day.

We, members of the Singapore Armed Forces
Do solemnly and sincerely pledge that
We will always bear true faith
And allegience to the President
and the Republic of Singapore
we will always support and defend
the Constitution
we will preserve and protect
the honor and independence
of our country with our lives!

After BMT, the short stint at OCS SAFTI, my life in 160 SQN, I think I have learnt much about being an officer. Seeing so many different officers and their style of leading, I believe I know more about being a leader. Hopefully I will be one that is able to inspire..

And here I am, an ADA officer to be, facing the new life of a commissioned officer in the days to come. The only thing that remains to be done before I become a full-fledged officer is to finish my Commissioning Parade. That comes with days of harsh rehearsals under the School Sergeant Major. Really a bit scared of it cos i've been to see our seniors rehearsing and the buckets of sweat they produce. Brr..

Now I'm here blogging with my eyes half-closed, taking to Zel who's on loudspeaker haha.. So very tired but happy.. The week has been good for me, Valentines Day (be blogging about it next time), RCGC, being able to come home ^^ etc etc.. I'm gonna be sleeping with my sword tonight!! Haha really crazy le..

Bleh.. really can't take it le.. guess I'm off to bed.. Tml still gotta book in AFS by 0700.. That means I have to catch the very first train out.. That means very little sleep for me.. Sigh.. Good Night!!

Old Post
Last Saturday's Post

Hee was too tired to blog last week, so this is a sorta make-up for it k?

Another hectic saturday with minimal sleep and maximum activity.. Woke up early to follow Pye and YiYang to go running. We ran all the way from our house bus stop all the way to Jurong Point, approximately a 7 to 8 km distance. I was pretty tired after the run, but very very happy, cos I exercised!! Its really tough when the person leading the run is a bloody commando (YY)! Really sweat buckets!

Took the bus back home cos I had another appointment to meet.. Ugh only had 80 cents borrowed from the guys with me, which wasn't enuff for the ride home.. Bleh heng the uncle allowed me to get on, thank God.. If not really good game le..

Chionged home, bathed, then chionged out again to meet Lynette at Cineleisure. Watched Match Point, which was a movie about a man who is really a pervert in disguise with all the dirty ideas.. Lol typical 2-timing show.. Lyn was so sad cos I kept calling the lead actor "a piece of shit". Lol just jk of cuz.. I know hes pretty cute too! (Yeah right..) When the show finally ended with a totally unfair plot twist, I was like "what a bloody lucky guy".. oh well, guess even bad guys have their strokes of luck.

Ate Carbonara @ Pastamania which I haven't for a long time.. And the bacon tasted like ba kwa!! >< maybe its just cos of the CNY mood?? Prefer the one at Wala Wala lei.. After that walked a little more before chionging off to my next destination: Bt Batok

Went to West Mall to meet my NPCC mates Jun Wei, Qi Hui, Yong Jian, Marilyn, Peishan, Jia Hui and Yee Li. Haha sorry la guys first for once can? no order of merit de.. We went to eat steamboat at Marilyn's house. Armed with a knife and fork, I proceeded to debone the roast chicken we bought.. Ok so it was more like mutilate, but whos complainin?? Simple but delicious meal.. Thanks so much!!

Amid the "air pork" jokes we usually have, we foud out that 3 of us got attatched! Haha so funny! Wads worse, JW kana chased by some gal 1 yr older who calls him Jun Jun! ROFL.. really had us all laughing lor!! He like really quite scared too.. Budden the gal looks quite ok lei.. would really recommend him to give her a chance, but he vehemently refused. Oh well..

Its really strange how different people display affection for members of the opposite sex.. Its really funny to see how the "victim" reacts.. Its really sad when it turns up as unrequited love.. But its really beautiful when the link is made..

Awaiting
Awaiting

And our items came.. Our sword, the brevet and the ranks.. Nothing felt better than seeing the ADA brevet we worked so hard to get. Strangely, the sword wasn't much of an interest to me. Perhaps its cos I have held it before in a parade? Anyways, I really wanted so much to pin on the brevet at once can?

Sigh.. but still need to wait another few more days before we get to wear it, presented by our very own Chief Air Force! Its a grand ceremony (dumb one too) where we get our swords and brevet. Sounds pretty cool, but I don't really wanna sing that dumb AFS song.. Goes like this:

We are all from Air Force School
Excellence is our motto
We believe in the Core Values and Vision
Ready to achieve our mission

~Chorus~
Together we can be a premier school
Making our Vision come true
Excel in training, sports and all we do
Be the pride of Air Force School

We come together for a common mission
To protect the skies of our nation
Striving for knowledge and achieving the best
We aim to rise above the rest

~Chorus~

United we work together as a team
Regardless of vocation or wing
Tenacity, Dynamism, Fortitude, Competency
We will strive together

~Chorusx2~

It should be pretty clear by now theres no way a nice rythm can fit such pathethic lyrics right? sigh... The song really sux.. Wadever, if I get the sword and the brevet with no hitches I'm a happy man ^^

Congrats to my buddy for being the best trainee for Guns!! Cheers for Peng Yu!! Haha my buddy u know?? lol lol so happy..

Also I'm aiming to be the S2 for 160! Haha Jie Ren dun fight with me...
