Saint's ConcertZel brought me to SAJC to watch their orchestra perform in the school. Haha I took the day off from work for that ^^ Well, it was really fun heading back to school again, looking at all the classrooms, lecture halls, the field, and the schoolgirls >< really brought back memories again. I realised how much I really missed school, and PJC most of all.. Really wish I had the chance to relive those days again sometime..
JC life was definately the most enjoyable time of my life. So many things happened! Lotsa happenings everday, laughter, school, stress, lousy PW, boring sleep-inducing lectures etc etc.. Whew, its great to be in school. Now that I've experienced working life, I come to the conclusion that school life is still the best.
Anyways, back to the topic. SAJC is big! Haha not to mention its actually 3 schools in one (no fair) and it totally dwarfs PJ. Sigh, they even got an aircon room with sofas! Pioneers would really dig this kinda places, perfect sleeping spots.. Haha nevermind if their not for sleeping.. we don't really care ^^ Well we hung around waiting for the performance to start. The tickets were similar to boarding passes.. haha suggesting an airline theme. Sure enough, it was. Well the ticket was really quite well done, but to say the truth, it didn't appeal to me. Haha not my taste.. Anyways the performance started after a horrendous delay.. Aside from the lousy MCs which I thought really spoilt the event, most of the pieces were not very touching. Somehow the feeling wasn't there. I like music with feeling, the kind where you shiver at certain points in the music. That night, it wasn't really quite there.
But the last pieces were pretty good, with a traditional rendition of "when the saints come marching home" oh well, its SAJC huh? Can't leave that out can we?
Anyways, I could see she was a little disappointed (never mind ^^ recommend me a nice one at the esplanade next time) but oh well, it wasn't a professional orchestra right? But nonetheless I commend all their efforts in organising the event. It was well done, though cold have been better.
Well, we had our fun too, looking out for chio bus together (haha she was anxious to prove her point) and laughing at the rally taking place outside. Never mind we busted her curfew >< or me missing that last stop at Batok then having to walk home from Jurong cos it was the last train.. but it was a fun day.. I know she was happy..
Next time k?
