Econs Camp

Oikos '07

And camp number 2 goes down. The economics faculty camp, named Oikos, was steeped in Greek Mythology.. Well just mythology that is, with a whole bunch of year 2s acting as resident gods with strange names like King Sweeny and even stranger powers. The short camp, 2 days was unfortunately marred by the weather and unfortunately lame games..

Well, perhaps it was Sports Camp that set the benchmark way too high..

Nonetheless, I was greatful for yet another fun group. Totally enjoyed the company this time as well. You rock guys! Gonna look forward to seeing you all in FTP Run 3! Not to mention school..

Not gonna say so much though.. Join Facebook! Haha.. truly i'm spamming adverts for this site..

Next camp is dreaded FTP. With all that bad comments from both groups, I'm dreading it already.. little consolation that it has the most people (and girls) Praying hard that it wont rain..

Smashin 07
Smashin' 07. That was the name of the SSU Sports Camp this year. The one I signed up and paid 50 buck for. Every penny was worth it when I stepped foot into Team Ace Ventura. Comprised of 6 fantastic ladies and 5 macho guys (i'm macho too ok?), we swept up 350 buck worth of food vouchers from NYDC and Cafe Cartel, winning third for the Amazing Race and first for the Telematches.

It was a blast. I have never gone for a more fun camp. Period. At the end, I was tired, aching like mad and undeniably happy and enthused by the boundless energy of our team during the games. I mean, how many teams score full points for the Telematch?

Guys, if you want pictures, sign up for Facebook and add me. Wahaha.. too many pics to really show all of you guys.. soo sorry.. might add 1 or 2 when I gather the rest of the pictures, but rest assured all the nice ones will be up in my album.

I shall save the details on the countless sports that we played, but by far frisbee and handball probably attracted me the most. Should I try handball out? Haha..

And so we met up. Ace Venturians. Haha.. well thats the name of my group. 4 guys and 5 girls. Of which I'm the only guy that turned up for the lunch today -_- lll anyways it was nice to meet up. I think its gonna be fun, but much of it is gonna rest on the guys. Gonna need some males around too ya? A 21 year old guy does have some problems aligning with 19 year old girls.. haha.. feeling quite old already..

Sports Camp is tml!! Expectations are rising. So far my facis seem fun. But we'll find out more during the camp. It better be worth the 45 bucks I coughed out!! Looking at the camps all lined up, think I'm really gonna be damn tanned and shacked out man!!

The Weeks Ahead

The Weeks Ahead

This week's the week with Sports Camp! Can't wait can't wait! Think its gonna be so fun! 3 days.. wondering whats in store for us all.. Weeks and weeks of camps to follow..

From what I know, its gonna be 9 peeps in my group, plus 2 facis. Gonna be meeting them all tml at Cafe Cartel. Hope they'll all be fun people. Haha.. This pretty much marks the next phase thats coming in my life. University. Finally after the long hiatus in dear National Service, I emerge noticeably dumber, less educationally able, and well.. you all know what kelvar helmets does to people..

To say the truth.. I think its anticipation mixed with a little apprehension. Can't say I'm all that confident in handling University life.. not when I have not studied for the past few years, except while in training school mulling over dreaded manuals and SOPs in which failure would warrent a nights stay at Chong Pang Camp or Air Force School.

They next 4 years will make or break me.

Chilling thought.

Now if only NDP will just go away.

Ming Gang's 21!

And so our dear Ming Gang became the next to join the aging family of new adults in our gang. Finally 21, but somehow, for that day, the 21 year olds were behaving far from 21 year olds.

The day started of pretty normally, with the 7 of us wowed as we were led into a private room of Sun with Moon Japanese Restaurant @ Wheelock Place. Excited! Somehow I guess my manly charms got the waitress to give us the premium room eh? Just kidding.. turns out its only cos they were at full house so to squeeze in my booking of 8 they gave us this room.

While we mulled over the menu, trying to figure out what to eat.. we waited for the usual late suspect. And the food came!

Yum!

The food was simply delicious! But the portion was too little.. Not long after Janice, who was visibly still hungry quickly rushed us off to alternate location for more food: NYDC. There, the gang, a little embarrassed by the crowd, nervously sang the birthday song for our birthday boy!

Then we went a little kiddy..

But i guess the howler of the day was due to this animal.. situated on the top of a shelf some 2 meters plus up, 5 meters away..

Ming Gang: eh that monkey very cute!

Kang Tai: No la.. its a dog right?

Bong: Nah.. lion la..

Janice: Hippo-po!

Time really stood still for awhile for me then. Unfreeze. Then I burst out laughing.

Oh well.. howler of the night. Guess even Da Jie can get quite kiddy too..

Anyways the prize presentation came and we handed our lucky boi his present. A Shirt and Vest.

Dear All, I'm so sorry my blog is so dead. Haven had much time to update lately. Currently now waiting for dear's call before I KO on the bed, so doing some last ditch updating to show i'm still kicking lol.

Anyways just a quick snippet of life so far: I just crossed by 21st Birthday, happily celebrated with friends and family, getting wet and getting so touched by what Zelda did for me that day.. as well as my coursemates. Piyo for the long emo speech, Chui for the funny look you gave on the video. Shimon and Justin for thier segments and Jem for the overseas call. Love you guys..
