Engine Revving
Engine Revving

Week 1 is over, and I have yet been really able to get my study engine started. Yes, I have done work, but still its lagging a little behind the required amount. Still I am distracted by bits of SOS here, bits of Windsurfing there and etc. Perhaps my mental capacity is truly quite horrendous, or maybe my study environment just sucks.

Been still enjoying my life a little, managing to go see VJ Choir Alumni sing among other small things, I guess I really have not kept my "I will mug" promise. But at least my driving is nearly there! 6 more lessons and I'm set.

Something still bugs me though..

The Present
The Present

"Live in the present", so did a certain magazine said. And to some extent how true it is. At the same time it has always been part of my own philosophy of life. Indeed, as the Bible said in Matthew 6:25-34;

"Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? ... But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. ..."

A passage that requires huge amounts of faith to put into practice. To put absolute trust in God's Providence. Even I fail in doing so sometimes. Indeed, Man has always planned and planned for his future. How to achieve a certain goal by a certain time, how to earn enough money for a comfortable retirement and how to live a good life in general. Are we able to leave all these aside for God to take care off? Or are we still doubting Him by keeping this one thing well within our control?

But everything has been good for me so far. Yes, I do have ups and downs as well, and I'd say I'm on the climb for now. But whats ahead could be yet another down, or perhaps continue to soar. That I cannot answer, but to deal with the present. That's sufficient for me. Yes, I have vague plans for the future, but they will come in time.

First comes school and my driving license. Haha!

Driving
Driving

D-day is 4th Oct 2008. Really wondering if I can pass it on my first attempt. Skills wise, I know I can, barring any unforeseen circumstances. I'm now in my circuit phase, and if all goes well, Lord willing, another 5 or 6 lessons should finish everything for me. Haha. Thats quite soon too!

Now I just need to make sure I check the blind spots and not overspeed. Really bad habits to have on the road. Oh well.. I like to move fast ma.. as with the tradition of Gunners.

The initial thrill of driving has died down a little, but i guess in a sense I still have the feeling of elation when successfully clearing the courses and parking successfully. Its nice. But after awhile it gets boring, not to mention maintaining half-clutch is tiring. Oh well.

2 months to my test. I sure hope I pass! Though the day I get my own car is probably years away. Haha.. I'm imagining a lau-pok second hand car as my first drive.
